FIRE INSPECTIONS

Marshall Fire Department offers fire inspections for businesses within the fire district, inspections are preformed in pursuant to State of Wisconsin Legislative Code SPS 314, that requires local fire departments to perform and record fire inspections, work with business owners to ensure hazards are corrected and provide education about fire safety. The State of Wisconsin has adopted National Fire Protection Association Code 1 (NFPA 1 - 2012 edition) as a guideline for fire departments to follow when performing inspections. Businesses, by law, are required to adhere to the standards in the adopted edition of NFPA, supplemental fire codes adopted by the state as well as local ordinances regarding fire safety.

Inspections are a means to identify, eliminate or reduce hazards which might result in life or property loss. Inspections also ensure that fire protection systems, such as sprinkler systems, fire alarm systems. and kitchen hood extinguishing systems are maintained in good working condition. In the event of the fire, losses will be minimized through early detection and suppression. Code enforcement is required and is a proactive and cost effective approach to community fire protection.

If your property is in need of a fire inspection or have any questions involving inspections, please contact Fire Inspector Caden Baumann.
