VILLAGE OF MARSHALL
The Village of Marshall strictly prohibits open burning except for recreational purposes such as small campfires. This regulation is in place to ensure public safety, protect air quality, and reduce the risk of uncontrolled fires.
Allowed Burning – Recreational Fires Only Residents within the Village of Marshall may only have small recreational fires, which must adhere to the following guidelines:
🚫 No burn barrels, bonfires, or large controlled burns are permitted.
🚫 No burning of construction materials, furniture, plastics, or hazardous substances.
Enforcement & Violations Failure to comply with the Village of Marshall burning regulations may result in fines and penalties. The Marshall Fire Department or local law enforcement may issue citations or require immediate fire extinguishment if violations occur.

- Fire Size: The fire must be contained within a fire pit, fire ring, or an outdoor fireplace and should not exceed 3 feet in diameter.

- Location Requirements: The fire must be at least 25 feet away from any structure, fence, or combustible material.
- Supervision: Fires must be constantly attended by a responsible adult with access to water, sand, or a fire extinguisher in case of emergencies.
- Smoke Control: Avoid excessive smoke that may disturb neighbors. If complaints arise, you may be required to extinguish the fire.
- Time Restrictions: Recreational fires must be completely extinguished before leaving them unattended and should not be left burning overnight.
